There are 2 times you will be uploading images:
- To put your images on display in your galleries
- To fulfill orders (under "Display Only" workflow options)
While the basic concept of uploading is the same, how you do it and the manner in which you do it is distinctly different. Do NOT confuse the two!
Uploading to Display your Images
There are 2 main ways to upload your images for display:
- Via the Web uploader
- Via FTP (file transfer protocol) - See "Uploading via FTP"
Web Uploader
The easiest and fastest way to upload is by using our web-based uploader. This is accessible totally from the web and does not require the installation of or access to a separate application on your computer.
To upload photos to your account via the web uploader, you first you need to login to your Shutterbug Storefront account. You can then click on the 'Upload Photos' link. If you go to this page for the first time, it will most likely try to download our image uploader. Your browser will prompt you to install Aurigma Image Uploader. This is free of charge - you simply have to approve the installation. (It is a plug-in to your web browser)
First you need to select the gallery you want to upload your images in. If you are just getting started, you will likely only have one gallery named 'Main Gallery'. The other important option is the 'Print status' option. If you set this to "Display only", you will be able to have the uploader automatically resize the images for you during upload. Depending on your amount of images, this can save you a lot of time. If a print is ordered of such a photo, you will be notified and requested to upload the full resolution file then. If you select "print ready", the file that you are uploading will be used for all products ordered.
After you have set your options, you can drag & drop images with the uploader. Use the bar on the left to select your image folder, and then select the images on the right. Keep your mouse button down and drag them to the lower pane. Now you can click the upload button.
After your upload is complete, you will be automatically redirected to your gallery.
