Uploading for order fulfillment is a completely separate and
different process than uploading for displaying images in your galleries. Do not confuse the 2 types of uploading!
This page discusses how to upload your images to fulfill orders using the Shutterbug Storefront
"required files" web interface.
When you upload your images set to: “Print Ready = No” this is what
we commonly refer to as a "Display Only" workflow. When you have images in galleries and your products set to this and someone places an order, you get an email notice that says you have an order waiting that
needs photos.
You can either follow the link in the email, or log in to
your Shutterbug Storefront website. When you sign in to your administrative area,
you see a notice at the top that also is an indicator that you have a pending
order that needs the full-resolution files to fulfill that order.....
When you click on "required files", you then get a screen that shows
you all the images and sizes of those images that have been ordered. It will tell you the gallery each image is
from and the order number.
You would go look at the images needed, and find the
images you need to work with that are residing on your hard drive. (Or if you have them stored on a CD/DVD)
You would open up your photo editor and make the necessary
changes (color correction, sharpening, etc.) and most importantly... apply the
correct CROP for the exact print ordered. (See “basic cropping”)
What we suggest to do at that point, is to save a separate “final” file that is
to be used for fulfillment. This file
should have a different name / nomenclature to designate it as being done and cropped
to a specific size. For example:
PICT0001.jpg would be saved as PICT0001_5x7.jpg if this was for fulfilling a
5x7. If you needed to use that
same image for an 8x10 as well, you would go back to the original and then save
a new one called PICT0001_8x10.jpg. Definitely
save a different file for each of the different print sizes ordered. You must upload a differently named version of an image for different products, even though it is for the same image. It ensures that the correct file will be matched up in our system with the correct product ordered and uploaded for printing.
Once you have completed all the final file saves, with the Upload Order Screen
open, you would browse to the corresponding full-res file on your hard drive
for each photo by clicking on the “browse” button. Once the file is selected, hit "upload
photo."
After a new moments, you'll get a confirmation of the
uploaded file(s) being successfully uploaded. You can click to upload one
image file, and if you have more files to upload, you can move on to the next
one to speed up the process. Be sure not to close your browser window until
all have been verified as a completed upload.
